About the House (part 2)

the large light and bright kitchen/diner with stained floorboards, radiator and dual aspect large double glazed windows to the front and rear gardens, circular dining table and four chairs, old pine chest of drawers containing board games, puzzles, sewing kit etc, telephone/answerphone (incoming calls only), CD/radio/cassette player, two easy chairs, woodburner, central heating controls. U-shaped fitted kitchen fully equiped with oven, hob, extractor, microwave, fridge with small freezer section, washer/drier, iron, crockery, cutlery, glasses, toaster, kettle, pots & pans, utensils etc and all cleaning materials. The leaflets for all local and regional attractions are displayed here alongside the folder with all instructions for the running of the house. Local artists work is represented in the beautiful pottery and pictures in use or displayed here.

From here there is a door to:

carpeted second hallway with radiator and study area comprising old pine desk & chair and bookshelves housing a wide selection of adult fiction books for all tastes. Hall cupboard housing fireguards, vacuumn cleaner, broom, mop, ironing board, free standing clothes airer etc with doors to:

 

kitchen

Sitting room: large bay window to the front, carpeted, radiator, open fireplace with coal bucket, fire irons and log basket, three-seater sofa, two armchairs, standard lamp, old pine trunk, TV/video/DVD housed in a painted cupboard which also houses local interest and reference books, and an extensive collection of childrens videos. A small waxed pine bookshelf houses magazines, small reference books and local maps. Two small waxed pine tables/footstools also provided. Please note: the suite will be re-covered February 2008, with photos substituted as and when. Logs, kindling and firelighters are supplied. Local photographer, Kim Appleby, sells her signed, limited edition artistic photos of Port Isaac and environs from the display on the walls here; the pleasure is all ours to enjoy.

Twin bedroom: carpeted, radiator, large double glazed window to rear garden, peg rail with wooden hangers, hair dryer, alarm clock, two new (awaiting photo update) single pine beds with patching patchwork quilts, blanket chest, open fronted bookshelf holding a wide variety of junior fiction, bedside touch lamp lamp and kids plug in glow light. A large gilded mirror sits between a pair of original watercolours by a neighbour of fishing boats in Port Isaac harbour. Next door to:

Shower room: frosted double glazed window to rear garden, shower cubicle with folding glass screen door, basin, WC, towel rail and radiator. Painted floorboard floor.

Internally there are no steps or level changes making the house ideal for people with limited mobility. The spacing of the two bedrooms (each with a washroom) at opposite ends of the house creates a good deal of privacy making it especially suited to two couples, or families with older children.
